Gay Sites Online

Rainbowfix.com
All New

Rainbowfix.com

"We firmly believe that finding love is not about handing over a monthly fee to just another dating site.  As a result, a handful of passionate, dedicated and generous members of the global gay community have envisioned, designed, funded, and implemented rainbowfix.com, with the vision of providing relationship minded lesbian and gay singles a genuine and exciting option for serious dating, while eventually helping interested singles find true love and life partners.”

So says the new Web site that is “100% free,” stressing its intent to be a “better personals site” to help the GLBTQI find his/her special one.

The good and the bad.

Firstly, this site is still very new – Guys4Men.com had, like, thousands of members in every country; but Rainbowfix.com only had under 5,000 members overall (as of end-October 2008).  Meaning, you can still get the good names, sans the numbers after it, e.g. david instead of david2008 or davidmanila2008 – though this means, too, that there are only so many you can pick up (i.e. during the last checking, there were less than 100 members from the Philippines, mostly in Metro Manila, though there were noted members in Iloilo City, and Malolos, Bulacan, among others).

Secondly, much like LifeOut.com, there’s no control over what’s posted online – so copyright infringement be damned (thus, for copyright conscious artists, this isn’t the best place to showcase your exclusive pieces).  Not that Rainbowfix.com is alone in this problem, anyway...

Thirdly, arguably because it’s still new, the site’s still... figuring itself out, e.g. only eight photos allowed, so that, no, albums cannot be uploaded here; it looks like, say, Facebook.com, conveniently placing its links where they could be seen, but too numerous so it starts to mimic LifeOut.com; et cetera.

Alas, no, the site’s members are not limited to those searching for true love – good luck in achieving that, if that is at all possible.  Sex, then, becomes what many search here, just as it is with other GLBTQI personals sites.  But then again, this one’s trying at least – and that’s saying a lot in this sex-obsessed gay culture that we have.
